Sea turtles have been around since the dinosaurs. That’s right, sea turtles as we know them today evolved 110 million years ago and have changed very little in the years since. This means that they not only coexisted with dinosaurs for around 45 million years, but they also outlived them, surviving the mass extinction event that took place approximately 65 million years ago.

There are 36 species of marine dolphins - living in nearly all aquatic environments, including oceans, coastal, estuarine and freshwater - and in temperatures ranging from less than 0°C to more than 30°C.

There are two types of whales: Baleen whales and the toothed whales. Baleen whales, including humpbacks and blue whales, have fibrous 'baleen' plates in their mouths instead of teeth and eat zooplankton, krill, and small crustaceans. Toothed whales, such as orcas, beluga and sperm whales, have teeth allowing them to feed on larger prey such as fish and squid.
